I am more personally moved and rewarded by having my students go on to do amazing things than I am by receiving awards from my peers or institutions. Several such people stand out.
Maria Newhouse is a Seita Campus Coach at WMU and is also an award-winning teacher in the Gender and Women’s Studies program at WMU. Maria enrolled in 16 credits of courses I taught when she was an undergraduate student.
Several of the students in my biomedical ethics courses have gone on to practice medicine as doctors, physician’s assistants, nurses, and physical and occupational therapists. Many are now pursuing more education in these fields.
